Our Research

The Alcohol Lab at TCNJ is a multidisciplinary research lab that studies animal models of alcohol abuse.¬† Past research projects have applied quantitative models of choice (such as behavioral economics) to alcohol consumption in rats. In these experiments, rats are trained to press a lever to receive access to an alcohol solution, thereby providing a model of “working” to earn alcohol access. All of the research is conducted by undergraduate students at TCNJ under the direction of Dr. Margaret Martinetti, Associate Professor of Psychology.
